Call to Action

The Global Gatherings is a collective call to action, inviting filmmakers, musicians, artists, activists, advocates, thought leaders, change-makers, and community members to contribute their voices, expertise, and passions toward a shared vision of global transformation.

At the heart of the Global Gatherings lie the core principles of the Charter for Compassion: empathy, justice, equality, and interconnectedness

Attendees will connect with creative community leaders, gain access to a wealth of inspiration and expertise, and explore potential collaborations with like-minded community members and partner organizations.

The event is a catalyst for building lasting relationships and nurturing a community dedicated to the ethos of compassion.

By embracing the diverse perspectives and experiences of its participants, Global Gatherings aspires to create a ripple effect of positive change, echoing the Charter for Compassion’s commitment to a world where compassion guides all actions and interactions.

Making History

The history of transgender people spans millennia, with evidence of gender variance and diverse gender roles in various cultures, though the term "transgender" and its modern understanding emerged in the mid-20th century.

Many indigenous cultures recognized and celebrated multiple gender identities, such as the "two-spirit" people in Native American communities, who held respected roles within their societies.

Launching the movement

The Stonewall Uprising in 1969 is often credited with launching the LGBTQ+ rights movement, and transgender activists like Marsha P. Johnson played a key role in fighting for greater inclusion and rights for trans people.

2025 and beyond

In 2025, the Transgender community is under attack around the world.  And their courage and creativity is needed now and in the months and years ahead.
